Proving that YouTube is the Main Stream.
It’s no surprise that TV viewing behavior has fundamentally changed over the past decade – and along with it, advertisers have grown too savvy to fall for glossy TV sweepstakes designed to lure in coveted advertising dollars. We now live in an era where YouTube is actively reaching 96% of Canadians, with consumers streaming the authentic content they choose, where they want, when they want. With marketing budgets finally starting to come back post pandemic, it was time to remind advertisers that there’s a better platform for more targeted, flexible, and personalized content for the modern consumer. It was time to prove that “YouTube is the Main Stream” – across countless devices from smartphones to tablets, and computer screens to connected TVs.
Enter YouTube Brandcast Canada – YouTube’s premier event for advertisers and agency partners. Hosted by Simu Liu, the event kicked off with an emotive intro video that highlighted some of the most talked-about Canadian moments on YouTube over the past year, from personal human moments to cultural moments that inspired a nation. An immersive pre-show featured surprise spotlight performances, followed by thought-provoking keynotes, and a fireside chat with Juno-nominated singer Tesher and artist AmandaRachLee. The show wrapped with a live musical performance by YouTube sensation Tate McRae, before guests were invited to participate in 14 authentic and interactive experiences led by some of YouTube’s top content creators.
